最近因為金馬奇幻影展的關係，朋友向我詢問了這片，也讓我重新拿出來看也發現了網路上有網友寫了一段評論(1)，並且將貫穿其片的主題曲The Origin of Love 愛的起源中文歌詞翻了出來
[劇情]
影片主人公漢塞爾出生於冷戰時期的東德。早在孩提時代他便經常收聽一家軍隊電台播出的美國搖滾樂。漢塞爾整日陶醉在這種亢奮喧鬧的音樂之中，夢想成為一名搖滾樂手。終於，這一天似乎不再那麼遙遠。一名美國黑人士兵盧瑟對他表示愛慕之情，並答應給予他幫助。但麻煩的是，漢塞爾必須同他結婚才能和他一起去美國。因此他唯一的出路是改變自已的性別。無奈之下漢塞爾作了了一次變性手術。手術做得非常糟糕，漢塞爾的陽具因而被割去大半，只剩下1英寸，這便是“ANGRY INCH” （憤怒的1英寸）一詞的由來。漢塞爾戴上一頂金色假髮，改名赫德韋格，告別過去，帶著對未來的美好憧憬，前往美國。
然而，在這片他曾經夢寐以求的國土上，幸福似乎仍然與赫德韋格無緣。 2年後，在堪薩斯州的一片活動房組成的住宅區，盧瑟因追求另一男孩而棄她而去。赫德韋格在痛苦中振作起來，繼續她的音樂之旅，為實現昔日的夢想而努力。她召集一些韓國軍人的妻子，成立The Angry Inch搖滾樂隊。她還找了一份看護嬰兒的工作，以維持生計。打工期間赫德韋格引誘並愛上了17歲的湯米，這位羞怯的小伙子對搖滾樂也有著濃厚的興趣。在赫德韋格的指導下湯米開始練習演唱，與此同時，赫德韋格的精湛技藝開始逐漸地展現出來。
好景不長，不久湯米便竊走赫德韋格的歌曲並拋棄了她。倚仗赫德韋格的歌曲，湯米終於發跡，成為名噪一時的搖滾明星，而赫德韋格和她的樂隊仍在一家二流餐館為用餐的顧客們演唱而艱難度日。終於，赫德韋格潛入湯米正巡迴演出的體育館，內心的創痛使她陷入絕望…
